Name: Wild North Brewing Co.
Owner(s): Lisa & Craig Wood
Short bio: Wild North Brewing is more than just a place to grab a pint, it’s a welcoming hub where locals gather, stories are shared, and community is always on tap. With an ever-changing event lineup, locally brewed craft beer, and a come-as-you-are atmosphere, it’s become a true go-to spot in Creston.
About the Business
What they offer: Wild North Brewing serves up delicious, small-batch craft beer made with locally sourced ingredients. But they don’t stop there. You’ll also find a range of non-beer options including local wines, cider, and non-alcoholic choices like the fan-favourite Happy Gut. The taproom regularly hosts trivia nights, live music, and open mics and you’re welcome to bring food from local restaurants or enjoy offerings from visiting caterers. There are even board games on hand for a relaxed night with friends.
Unique approach or specialty: Built in a former Greyhound depot during the height of the pandemic, Wild North was born from a dream to turn an old transit stop into a new gathering place. Lisa and Craig wanted more than a brewery—they wanted to build a space that celebrates people, creativity, and local connection. Their commitment to community shines through in everything they do, from highlighting local producers in their beer to supporting non-profits and hosting inclusive events.
Their story: Longtime Creston locals, Lisa and Craig spent their early days soaking up everything the valley had to offer, from afternoons at Pilot Bay to evenings on the Goat River. Years later, they saw something missing in their hometown: a place to gather. So, they rolled up their sleeves and created it themselves. Since then, Wild North has become a beloved local staple built on great beer, hometown pride, and a deep love for community. As Lisa says, “We are so much more than just beer. Don’t get me wrong, we love beer, but we love our community more.”
