We invite you to join our very special guest for our next Business Development Series speaker and presenter.
We've partnered with Kootenay Employment Services for a Business Development Series funded by the Government of Canada’s Opportunities Fund for Persons with Disabilities. Throughout 2025 we'll have some incredible speakers join us on various topics relating to disabilities in the workplace.
Victoria Maxwell (BFA/BPP*) is a recognized keynote speaker who uses humour and her personal story of recovery from mental illness to help make difficult mental health conversations more comfortable and transform negative beliefs. Her innovative approach increases understanding and awareness of workplace mental health issues and offers strategies and insight into the return-to-work process.
As the first Lived Experience Strategic Advisor at British Columbia Mental Health Substance Use Services, she leads various projects for the organization. In particular, she created and leads what is the first-ever Creative Writing program at BC's Forensic Psychiatric Hospital, with plans to expand to other sites. She’s been a blogger for Psychology Today magazine for over 15 years. The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health named her a leader in mental health, and her theatrical keynote “That’s Just Crazy Talk” is rated one of the top anti-stigma interventions in the country. She lives with bipolar disorder, anxiety, psychosis and complex PTSD.
